Santai Hotel is a boutique hotel that caters for the traveller who wants to get away from it all and stay in 'local' high quality accommodation with the comforts of home.

Santai Hotel has six individual Indonesian style bungalows, three Ocean View and three Garden view.

The detached bungalows are built in the Sulawesi style with thatched roofs and local timbers.

The bungalows, fishponds, restaurant, and 16-metre architect designed swimming pool are surrounded by lush green gardens, full of the fragrances of frangipani and flowers of the East.

Santai Hotel is approximately 3 hours drive from Denpasar Airport and the southern resorts of Kuta and Nusa Dua.

The restaurant serves a blend of Indonesian, Balinese and Western food.

Try some of the local dishes ranging from grilled or B.B.Q freshly caught fish cooked with Balinese spices and sauces (barracuda is a favourite) to Gado Gado, a wonderful warm vegetarian salad with lashings of peanut sauce.

Open from 7 am until 10 pm Daily.

Hotel Facilities & Services

Laundry service is available for a nominal charge, same day weather permitting.

Snorkelling equipment is available for hire at reception.

As Amed is off the beaten track as yet there are no phone lines, so take advantage of the peace while you can! For anyone needing to make a phone call or send a fax, a local hotel has a satellite phone or there is a communication office approximately 20 minutes drive away.

Santai Hotel has a medical kit available to guests for headaches, small cuts and bruises etc.

The Amed area is a series of small bays and quiet fishing villages. The beaches are lined with colorful Jukung fishing boats that sail each morning at sunrise and return later to unload their catch. The safe, calm waters are perfect for swimming and their is an abundance of vibrantly colored fish and beautiful coral. Some of the best snorkeling and diving in Bali can be found in this area. New species of marine life are often discovered here. The beaches are also frequented by playful dolphins and an occasional whale.
